Inside the Amsterdam Icebar Xtracold you will find two bars. In the lounge you can sit down, relax and drink your free welcome cocktail or large Heineken while enjoying the music. As you enter the second bar made from a staggering 60 tons of natural ice, you will be given a thermal coat and gloves to keep you warm at -10 degrees Celsius! The furniture, the walls, the art – everything is made of ice, even your drinks will be served in a glass made of ice. Your ticket includes three tokens which you can trade-in for any of the frozen drafts from the ice back shelves.

Amsterdam Red Light Secrets

The Red-Light Secrets museum is housed in a historic 17th-century house on the Oudezijds Voorburgwal canal, in the middle of the Red-Light District. Unlike in the rest of the district, pictures are allowed and even encouraged in Red Light Secrets. This educational attraction aims to remove the taboo from the topic of prostitution and provide a unique peek into the ins and outs of the business. You will be able to sit behind one of the famous windows where the sex workers famously try to attract customers on the street, learn about the history of the trade and experience a day in the life of a working girl.

Red Light District Walking Tour

Experience the wilder side of Amsterdam culture as you explore the famous Red-Light District accompanied by a reliable and trustworthy guide. Your tour starts with a visit to the Prostitution Information Centre where you will be offered a drink and the chance to learn more about the ‘oldest profession in the world’ from a former prostitute.Hear about the unique prostitution system in Amsterdam and get answers to some the questions you may have. Afterwards, the walk heads into the narrow streets of the Red-Light District including the renowned Zeedijk Street which in the past use to be full of sailors looking for local amusement – nowadays the area is less seedy and home to lively Dutch pubs and restaurants. Windmills, Marken & Vollendam

Your half day tour starts with a scenic drive through the Dutch countryside characterised by polders and little canals as you head to the Zaanse Schans village, famous for its collection of wooden windmills. The windmills are all still in use and offer a glimpse of Dutch life in the 17th and 18th centuries when thousands of windmills were lined along the dykes and powered the Dutch economy.

Here you have a chance to explore one of the mills that still perform various functions including a saw mill, a paint mill (grinding pigments), and oil mill (grinding linseed or peanuts to draw off the oil). You will also get the chance to visit a wooden shoemaker to learn how clogs are made. Afterwards, the tour continues to the renowned fishing villages of Volendam and Marken, where you can see traditional Dutch wooden houses and locals still wear traditional colourful dress. A twenty-minute boat trip takes you between the two villages and there’s around 45 minutes free time in both Volendam and Marken to explore and shop. Your return journey to Amsterdam takes you to a cheese farm where cheese is still made using traditional techniques.

Candlelight Cruise – Cheese & Wine

Traversing Amsterdam’s beautifully illuminated canal system in a cosy houseboat creates the perfect setting for this romantic evening cruise. Relax and watch this atmospheric city gently float past as you enjoy a glass of red or white wine accompanied by a selection of Dutch cheeses and nuts that will help to create the right mood. The 2-hour cruise glides gently past many of the Dutch capitals most famous landmarks in all their night time glory, including the elegant merchant houses and former warehouses of the Canal Belt, as well as the Magere Brug (Skinny Bridge). After passing through Oosterdok, the city’s eastern docks, you will finish your cruise back at the starting point.

Rotterdam, Delft & The Hague including Madurodam

Your day starts with a visit to Rotterdam, the Netherlands second city and set on the world’s largest harbour. Enjoy a tour of the city, taking in experimental architecture and eclectic collection of buildings that make Rotterdam unique. See the remarkable yellow cube houses and finish your tour by ascending the 185-metre-high Euromast Tower for spectacular views across the city. The tour then continues to Delft. This historic 17th Century city is famous for its beautiful pottery. Here you visit one of the famous Delft Blue potteries to see the craftsmen at work. Originally a duplicate of Chinese porcelain, the production of Delft pottery began in the 17th-century. Hundreds of years later, production of this beautiful, beloved earthenware pottery is still going strong. After your Royal Delft visit, spend an hour exploring the picturesque city of Delft, and stop for lunch (own expense). Next stop is The Hague with its government buildings and Peace Palace, here you will leave the coach to enjoy a walking tour of the area. You will also have some free time to explore the Hague before returning to Amsterdam
